Optometrist
| Dr. Tavia Doan, OD, is a board-certified therapeutic optometrist dedicated to blending compassionate care with the latest innovations in eye health. A native of Arlington, Dr. Doan discovered her passion for optometry while studying biology at the University of Texas at Arlington. Joining the university’s optometry club opened her eyes to the profound impact of vision care, inspiring her to volunteer, shadow doctors, and begin her journey from receptionist to technician — and ultimately, to practicing optometrist. Dr. Doan earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry. During her clinical training across Puerto Rico and the mainland United States, she gained extensive experience in full-scope ocular care, including myopia management/control, treatment of eye infections, ocular trauma, LASIK and cataract co-management, specialty contact lenses, and low vision rehabilitation. Her professional interests include contact lens innovations, preventative eyecare in children and adults, and the early diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Known for her warm, approachable demeanor, Dr. Doan is passionate about empowering patients through education and personalized care. She believes that understanding one’s vision is the first step toward protecting it—and she takes pride in guiding her patients with clarity, kindness, and the most advanced options available. Outside of work, Dr. Doan enjoys gardening, skiing, badminton, and biking, as well as spending quality time with family and friends. Dr. Doan and her husband recently welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Elias, in early 2025, and she couldn’t be more overjoyed. She cherishes connecting with people from all walks of life and looks forward to getting to know you during your visit. |
